The 54th Annual Citizen of the Year Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Myrtle Creek Elks Lodge
The awards banquet is our premiere event of the year and usually all available seats are filled. Average attendance over the past several years has been about 180 people.
The theme for 2012 is "The Roaring 20's". Social Hour with live music begins at 6 pm. Menu selections and cost per person to be determined.
Beginning in early January, a small committee of 5 to 7 volunteers meet and work diligently to make all the necessary arrangements, including selecting a theme, securing a location, advertising, decorating, ordering and serving food, providing entertainment, inviting dignitaries and lining up guest speakers.
Anyone wishing to serve on the committee for next year is encouraged to contact the Chamber President so we can discuss your particular interest(s), availability to attend committee meetings, etc. eMail
An even smaller sub-committee has the challenging task of reviewing and evaluating all nominations received, then selecting those individuals, groups and businesses that receive awards in the following categories:
Woman of the Year Man of the Year Business of the Year Lifetime Achievement Special Recognition
~ Nominations must be received by 5PM, February 1, 2012 ~
