The First Annual South County Fireman's Cook-Off was held on May 15, 2010. Five local fire departments participated in the cook-off. The Canyonville crew was the overall winner and took home the large travelling trophy. The event was deemed to be successful, raising nearly $1,000.00 to be divided among the departments that participated.

The event organizers and many participants concurred that the event should continue next year and beyond, with a possible change of venue to the Myrtle Creek Airport.
