CONGRATULATIONS to Myrtle Creek Grocery Outlet Bargain Market. They were selected as our April 2022 Business of the Month by members attending our April General Membership meeting. The store, owned/operated by Tom & Angie Criss and located on Pruner Road, held a Grand Opening on June 27th, 2019 to a large and welcoming crowd. The store was also our August 2019 Business of the Month and our 2020 Business of the Year. Since opening they have not only been a convenient source of affordable grocery and household items, but also generous supporters of and contributors to a wide range of community programs, projects and events. Just a few of those include: Independence from Hunger campaigns, feeding Milepost 97 wildfire and other firefighters, donating to local food banks and Christmas food baskets, Music in the Park, Where’s Armando, Tom tent camping in the heat of mid-summer on top of a semi-truck trailer until it was full of donated items, and many, many random acts of kindness to their customers by donating groceries and personally giving gift cards to families in need. Most recently they donated a 90-second shopping spree for an auction item at the Lions Club Crab Feed. The high bidders of the item coordinated with Tom & Angie to have a member of the South Umpqua High School track team sprint through the store and load up baskets with as many grocery items as possible, all of which were donated to the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry. Tom & Angie train their employees to work as a team so they are always busy throughout the store with their assigned duties. Sometimes Angie gets creative to insure maximum participation so when it came time to take the attached photo she announced over the store public address system: All employees report to the wine section. Twelve quickly showed up!
